Jhai & Simmy Dhillon

The Everyday Hustle

Available for over a year

This week Sonya chats to Jhai and Simmy Dhillon, who are the owners of Rice ‘n’ Spice, which is a healthy, homemade food delivery service, based in Hitchin. Simmy came up with the idea of cooking tasty, wholesome food after seeing a lot of his uni friends eating unhealthy, takeaway food, which led him onto creating healthy meals that he could sell. He then got his brother, Jhai on board and then Rice n Spice has grown into a family business. They share their story, from selling snacks and drinks on the school playground, to leaving their 9-5 jobs to pursue their dream business. This week, we hear from Kush Jutlla, who runs an illustrator business that she set up with her partner, called 'We Are Mush Studio'. She worked in the fashion industry for several years as a costume designer, but was made redundant in 2020 and so she then decided to launch her illustrator business and has already worked with some big names like WhatsApp, Ribena and TED.
