Stamp Duty; Delia Smith; Holidays in 2022

You and Yours

Available for over a year

The main stamp duty land tax holiday comes to an end on 30th June. Property sales completed in time will pay no tax under the £500,000 threshold. Between July and September the stamp duty saving will only apply up to £250,000, so savings will be more modest. The tax break has fuelled huge demand in the housing market, and many have struggled to complete before the deadline. We speak to buyers, solicitors and removal firms about the impact it's had on them. Delia Smith celebrates her 80th birthday this month. She's been on our television screens since the 1970s and revolutionised the way we cook and the ingredients stored in our kitchen cupboards. We discuss her lasting popularity and influence. Whilst more destinations have been added to the government's green list for travel, many people won't be venturing abroad this year. Instead, travel agents have reported an increase in bookings for next year, for big expensive trips. Having spent less this year, it's thought people are looking to book once in a lifetime experiences, such as safaris and motor home road trips. We have advice on what to bear in mind if you're booking a big trip for 2022. Presented by Winifred Robinson Produced by Beatrice Pickup
