You and Yours

Available for over a year

Are you buying new clothes now things are opening up again? We've bought a lot less in the pandemic - why buy clothes if no one sees you? It may be we'll keep it that way, to save money and cut down on waste. However sales of fast fashion to younger shoppers are soaring away. The online retailer Boohoo has seen its revenues grow by 32% in the three months to May compared with the same period last year. On the the other hand, some shoppers have moved towards more sustainable ways of getting a new outfit for an occasion. According to the analytics company Global Data, the market value of the UK clothes rental sector is expected to grow to £2.9 billion by the end of the decade.
