PCR Test Delays; Australian Wine; Used Car Prices

You and Yours

Available for over a year

If you're planning a holiday you may need to take a Covid-19 PCR test before you go, as well as when you get back. Countries such as Ireland, Portugal and Greece require you to take a test within 72 hours of travelling. However many of the home testing services available rely on the postal system to get samples to their laboratory. You & Yours looked at a number of testing companies which only guarantee results 24 or 48 hours after the samples arrive at the lab. Many state they take no responsibility for delivery delays, even if you use their chosen delivery partner. Delays over weekends and bank holidays has left some customers without results in time for flights. The UK has overtaken China as the biggest market for Australian wine. A steep rise in Chinese taxes meant producers looked to increase sales of Australian wine in Europe. Current import tariffs represent around ten pence for each bottle of wine, we look at what a tariff free trade deal might mean for the price of Australian wine. The second hand car market has seen some of the biggest monthly price increases on record. It makes it a good time to sell a second hand car, but an expensive time to buy one. We discuss why dealerships are struggling to source enough second hand cars to meet demand. Presented by Winifred Robinson Produced by Beatrice Pickup
