New overdraft fees apply this month for most high street banks. The regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority told banks to simplify their overdraft fees, and scrap high daily charges for unauthorised overdraft use. The changes were expected in April, but were postponed due to concerns about Coronavirus. For most customers, an annual interest rate of 39.9% will now apply. The regulator says 7 out of 10 customers will benefit from the new fees, but we hear from a customer who will be out of pocket. Crafting has been popular during lockdown, and some have found rude cross stitch therapeutic during these challenging times. We hear from the Profanity Embroidery Group, who pre-lockdown met twice a week in the pub to work on their cheeky embroidery. Let us know if you've spent hours stitching swear words instead of shouting them. Demand for camper vans is increasing, with some people choosing to convert vans themselves. If you do convert from a commercial van, you need to re-register the vehicle with the DVLA. It may not be easy - last year the DVLA rejected over nine thousand applications.
