Veganuary, Care Payments and Gwyneth's Goop

You and Yours

Available for over a year

New figures reveal a big rise in care home fees over the last decade. Surveys suggest that most people who are trying a vegan diet, do it for health reasons. But how confident can you be that foods sold as vegan are a genuinely healthy option? We hear advice from a senior NHS dietitian. A local authority has been criticised for cutting the amount it pays towards the care of a man with autism. He was receiving thirteen hours of support from a care company, which was paid for by his council. But that budget was cut, without any new assessment of his needs. His parents were told they would have to pay for the shortfall. We speak to the ombudsman who has told the council to pay his parents back. Gwyneth Paltrow's new TV series The Goop Lab, offers guidance on well-being and health, as well as promoting some uniquely scented candles. We ask Clare Wilson of New Scientist magazine, how seriously we should take the advice the programme provides. Presented by Winifred Robinson Produced by Kevin Core
