You and Yours

Available for over a year

You & Yours has reported for years on problems in the online gambling industry. Vulnerable customers have found they are encouraged to play on, with the offer of bonuses and VIP privileges. Others have discovered complex terms and conditions that require you to gamble many times over before withdrawing winnings. MPs across all parties have been looking at whether current UK laws are sufficient to protect the most vulnerable gamblers. You & Yours speaks to Richard Flint, former CEO of Skybet. Mr Flint is due to head up a big new gambling firm, Flutter/Stars Group. It will bring together PaddyPower, Betfair and Skybet. This month sees the final print publication of Marie Claire magazine. In future it will only be available online. Circulation figures across the women's and lifestyle magazine sector have fallen in recent years, might digital be the future? We speak to the Editor in Chief of Glamour Magazine, Deborah Joseph. Glamour UK went 'digital first' in 2017, with only two printed editions a year instead of the previous monthly publication. We look at the economics of taking a magazine online. Last year 80% of new car purchases were sold via PCP - Personal Contract Purchase - agreements. However the monthly cost of these agreements appear to be rising as used car values fall and dealers try to make up the difference. Recently the Financial Conduct Authority stepped in to ban finance deals in which interest payments are linked to the commission earned by dealerships. We look at whether PCPs can still offer value for money and what's next in the car finance market. Presented by Winifred Robinson. Produced by Beatrice Pickup.
