Sea Border

Available for over a year

Northern Irish magical realist author Jan Carson mixes the strange and otherworldly with the ordinary and the everyday. Hailing from rural County Antrim, her accent is a blend of Northern Irish and Scottish tones and Jan says her writing comes from somewhere in-between. But liminal spaces can be full of longing and the sea is changing from place to place. Are you here or there? Arriving or leaving? It can be hard to tell which side you're on. With ownership shifting with the rumbling tide, Jan brings us stories from the Irish Sea between Scotland and her native Northern Ireland. But it can be a dangerous thing to cross a dividing sea...
