Thousands of students are starting university for the first time in the coming weeks, full of excitement at the next stage in their life and some trepidation on how to pay for the academic year ahead. For many it’s the first time away from home – and the first time they’ll have to manage their day-to-day living costs, whether it’s rent, insurance, travel or the cost of a pint.
