What's it like being an apprentice? The government wants employers to create 3 million apprenticeships by 2020, to improve training, develop skills and help boost productivity. But latest figures show the number of apprenticeships continues to fall, ever since a new funding scheme was introduced in April 2017. So why is it not working? And what are the alternatives?
