Major insurers are breaking the law by taking into account old criminal records, disadvantaging millions of people with spent convictions, according to research conducted by the offender charity Unlock. Four hundred thousand people in the UK have had personal details stolen from the credit reference firm Equifax. We find out what it means for the security of your data.
