Portrush tourism, Care homes, Cuddle parties

You and Yours

Available for over a year

We investigate how extra government funding for care home providers, meant to help pay for nursing care, is not being passed on by local authorities. Cuddle Parties are becoming more popular, you pay to hug strangers and therapists say it's supposed to help people who miss affection. Paying cuddlers say they need it because we're all living increasingly lonely lives. Continuing our series on British seaside towns, we visit Portrush in Northern Ireland which is hoping to secure a multi-million pound grant to regenerate the resort. The mobile network, The People's Operator, was started by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales and gives a percentage of customer's monthly bill to charity - but it's getting a lot of complaints that they can't make calls, send texts, or use their phones at all. And easyJet customers are telling You & Yours that when their flights are delayed, they're not being looked after by the airline. They say they're not properly compensated and it's difficult to get through to customer services. EasyJet come on the programme to explain the problems they've been having.
