It's been billed as a simpler, easier to understand flat rate State Pension. You could receive up to £155.65 per week if you've reached retirement age from April 6th this year. But Government figures show that only 45% of people retiring under the new system in the first five years will actually receive the full amount. It all depends on your National Insurance record, and whether you paid into a good pension at work. Do you understand what you'll get? Can you improve it? And when can you claim it?
