Rooks and a Winter Roost

Living World

Available for over a year

Chris Packham relives programmes from The Living World archives. In this programme recorded in 2008, Lionel Kelleway is joined by Joe Cullum and Ian Henderson in Norfolk. At the time of recording, Lionel finds himself in a woodland setting at dusk after an unseasonably warm February day in anticipation of one of Britain's wildlife spectacles, thousands of rooks coming to roost. This particular roost next to Joe's house has connections back to the Domesday Book and once was thought to contain around 100,000 birds.
