In December 2015, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst appointed its first female college commander, Lieutenant Colonel Lucy Giles, the first woman to be given the role in 110 years. Lt Col Giles talks to Jenni about her military career, what it's like being a woman in the forces, and what she hopes to achieve in her new role. A new method of analysing crime statistics has found that violence against women has been increasing since 2009 contrary to mainstream thinking. We talk to Professor Sylvia Walby from Lancaster University about how these findings challenge beliefs that violent crime is predominately a problem of violence against men and that the rate of violent crime is decreasing.
