Sunday

Available for over a year

Following the Church of England's letter urging congregations to vote in the General Election and calling for a "fresh moral vision" in politics, Edward Stourton asks why so few politicians court the 'religious' vote. As other religious groups publish their manifestos, Bob Walker examines what influence they are likely to have on their congregations and on the outcome of the election. Ukrainian Greek Catholic Bishops have held talks with Pope Francis to raise concerns about the crisis in Ukraine. We hear from our Vatican correspondent David Willey. The Children's Society is calling for more protection in law for 16 and 17 year-olds at risk of abuse and neglect. We speak to Bishop Paul Butler, Chair of the Church of England's National Safeguarding Committee. Next week, applications open for the first residents of the Community of St Anselm - a radical initiative backed by the Archbishop of Canterbury to provide young adults with an experience of the monastic life. Trevor Barnes takes a tour of the priory in grounds of Lambeth Palace. Our reporter Kati Whitaker joins the new chief executive of the Christian aid agency World Vision on a recent visit to the Zaatari refugee camp on the Syrian-Jordanian border.
