In an exclusive interview Edward talks to Lord Sacks as he steps down as Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth after 22 years in the post. Fifty years ago, on August 28 1963, some half a million black and white people from all over the United States gathered for a gigantic civil rights demonstration in the nation's capital. The march however was also, arguably, one of the most important events in recent American faith history signalling a new direction for the black Church. Kati Whitaker reports.
