As a new exhibition of his work opens, photography historian Colin Ford chooses the five innovations in photography that changed the way we see the world. The National Trust, in partnership with Arts Council England, has launched Trust New Art, a three-year project which brings contemporary art and craft to existing National Trust properties. Tom Freshwater, Contemporary Arts programme manager at the National Trust, explains the thinking behind the scheme and some of its commissions. Design critic Corinne Julius gives her verdict.
