Peter White talks to Richard Leaman, the new chief executive of Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. Richard explains how he intends to deliver the organisation's new ten year strategy of providing a more holistic service for people, from the point of diagnosis. Having talked to blind and partially-sighted people about their needs, the result was for mobility leading to independence. The GDBA intends to provide additional services, including emotional suport services and 'buddy dogs' to help people regain their confidence.
