The RNIB's Losing Patients campaign aims to ensure that blind and visually impaired people have access to medical information in a format they can access. Mani Djazmi talks to two women who have experienced embarrassing situations because they have not been offered information in an accessible medium. The government claims that the DDA makes adequate provision for PCTs to provide information in alternative formats. But the RNIB feel that the law needs to be strengthened in this regard. Two blind women take to the slopes in France and explain the method they use to enjoy the thrills and spills of the sport by following the musical beat carried by their sighted guide in their rucksack.
