Managers at Butlins say the concerts are to go ahead, but inside a smaller part of the complex.

Westlife are to perform two shorter sets in a smaller venue on the site over the weekend of 17-20 November 2006, so that ticket holders are not disappointed.

The concert organisers are talking to McFly, who are due to play the following weekend (24-27 November), to see if similar arrangements can be made.

Butlins say the advice to concert-goers is to turn up as normal.

An investigation has begun into the collapse of the big top.

The marquee blew down in high winds at around 8pm on the evening of 15 November.

Resort director Darren Hollis has stressed that precautions are always taken to ensure such an incident would not happen when a concert is taking place.
