Known bugs and compatibility issues
On certain 8MB graphics cards, the graphics may not be displayed correctly.
Graphics cards need to have 3D Acceleration. You can check this by selecting 'run' from the start menu and entering 'dxdiag' followed by return - look at the display tab to see information on the card including memory and 3D support.
Try the low-spec version in cases of poor performance, such as slow movement and stuttering audio.

| On certain 8MB cards, the graphics may not be displayed properly as drivers for these cards do not exist to support all the rendering features supplied. | The artefacts that can occur result from drivers not being updated to cope with advanced rendering features. |
| Stuttering audio (PIMC error 7) on system 56 (PIII 550MHz 128MB, TNT2 16MB graphics, Windows ME). | Condition was improved by installing the low-spec version of the software. |
| PIMC error number 25, 26 - not working on system 47 (PII 350MHz, 64MB, Hercules 8MB graphics, win98gold). | Not known if this still happens with final version. Could be an oddity of this particular PC. |
| Black 'mirage' effects on the landscape. | This is a particular bug in the 12.41 nvidia driver, which is removed by updating to a later driver. |
| Crashing on running the application after it has already been run once - this may happen with Windows 2000. | Where observed has been solved by updating the graphics driver. |
| Radeon card problem (and related reports). | Fix in place but not tested. |
| Crash on system 54 when going straight into explore (PIMC error 29). | Not repeated here. However, if it does happen, it can be avoided by waiting to hear the instructions at start up. |
| Sequencing errors in news events. | Fixed, although may occur if "cheats" used. |
| Allosaurus attacks in Salt Lake will be made more successful. | Improved. |
| Getting stuck behind Allosaurus by nest in Forest. | Rare scenario - not fixed. |
| Leaves in mid air in crater roughly between bones and dragonfly perch. | Minor visual detail - not fixed. |
| Experiment mode will have large and small diplodocus, only small ones get killed. | Done. |
| Possible to walk through certain trees. | Improved - not a serious problem. |
