Sri Lankan Tamil protesters have attacked Sri Lankan and Indian High Commissions in London. The protesters have smashed few windows and glass panels in the Indian High Commission building in London. Hundreds of Tamils are protesting in front of the building demanding India to intervene to stop the war in Sri Lanka. Police have been trying to prevent the protesters blocking the streets. Earleir protesters have tried to forcefully enter into India House which is adjoining the Bush House, headquarters of the BBC World Service. Sri Lankan HC The Indian High Commission said the British Foreign Ministry was briefed on the incident and informed of the need for adequate security measures. “A crowd of demonstrators, shouting slogans about the situation in Sri Lanka gathered outside the High Commission premises. A few managed to force their way in, when the door was opened to allow a member of local staff in,” a statement issued by the High Commission said. It added that police have taken five protesters into custody. Meanwhile, a smaller protest has been happening in front of the Sri Lankan High Commission in London. An official of the Sri Lanka High Commission told BBC Sandeshaya that some protesters have thrown stones at the High Commission but there was no damage caused.
