Norway says that it will compensate the Sri Lankan Government for the damages done to the property of the Sri Lankan Embassy.

The Norwegian foreign ministry said that soon after the attack on the Sri Lankan Embassy in Oslo 12th April the Norwegian Government strongly condemned and regretted the incident.

Commenting on the investigations the foreign ministry says that the police have strengthened the security at the premises and the Norwegian police are giving the investigation of the attack the highest priority, and the police are doing everything they can to bring the culprits to justice.

The government of Sri Lanka blamed the attack on LTTE supporters in Norway.

Norway says that it understands that the attack has upset many people in Sri Lanka, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs has personally conveyed his regrets through the Sri Lankan Embassy in Oslo.
