Police in the northern Sri Lankan towns say they found three dead bodies during the last 24 hours. Two bodies found in Karthasinnakulam, Vavuniya, were identified by the relatives as Premajeevan Ranjan and Madhuraweeran Mahendran. Relatives have told the police that the two young men were taken away by five armed men came to their houses on Saturday night. Vavuniya police said they had no clue about the armed group. A dead body found by the Kopay police is suspected to be that of Nagalingam Naguleswaran, a resident of Trincomalee. Fishing ban relaxed The body, which was found tied to a lamp post, was partly burnt and had gunshot wounds, police said. Jaffna Fishermen's Association (JFA) meanwhile said certain fishing restrictions were removed by the security forces. Fishermen in Gurunagar, Parthivur, Colombuthurai and nearby islets are allowed to fish up to 1.5 km, JFA chairman K Navaratnam said. Fishing in Jaffna was banned from 19 February. Fishermen were allowed only up to 500m from the coast for about two years before that, Navaratnam said.
