LTTE admits killing Karuna's brother
LTTE leader Prabhakaran and Karuna
Happier times: Karuna used to be one of the trusted commanders of LTTE leader
The Tamil Tigers (LTTE) have admitted that they killed the brother of renegade commander Karuna and two others.

According to a statement issued by the Batticaloa- Ampara political leader, the killings of Reggie (Karuna’s brother) and the two others were carried out by its “Jeyanthan Brigade”.

It is unusual for the LTTE to admit its killings but making a rare admittance it said that it carried out the said killings.

The Jeyanthan Brigade was formed by V.Muralitharan alias Karuna, the former eastern commander of the LTTE. He broke away from the ranks in March accusing the Wanni leadership of favouritism towards carders from north.

The LTTE said that two other deceased were identified as Eleelan and Thumilan.

The Tigers say some others who were with Reggie have escaped and that they started a search operation.

The LTTE killed three renegade rebels in a jungle area near Maduru Oya on early Tuesday.
