Whittington Castle: View Two
Until the A5 bypass was built in the 1980s, the picturesque village of Whittington was besieged by traffic. The old A5 used to pass right in front of the castle, which was once owned by Fulk Fitz Warine, the man who inspired the Robin Hood legend.

This view shows the fine red brick Italianate church of St Mary & St Nicholas, as well as a surviving part of the moat and the castle gatehouse. Find out more about Whittington Castle.
