Director Hriday Shetty's movie, Plan might sound like a macho film due to presence of male stars. But it's nothing of that sort. There is no blood and gore. Plan is full of funny moments which will bring a smile on your face. The film opens in a train compartment where four guys share their plans and their reasons for going to Mumbai city. We have Bobby (Dino Morea) who dreams of becoming a Bollywood star. There is Jai (Bikram Saluja) who is searching for his girlfriend. Lucky (Sanjay Suri) loves gambling and so wants to go to Mumbai to make some easy bucks whilst Omi (Rohit Roy) wishes to get even with the man who cheated his father. With dreams in their eyes, all four enter Mumbai city. But soon their money runs out. How? They gamble their last few bucks by giving it to Lucky. But he gets cheated from his winnings.
So they decide to kidnap a businessman, collect the ransom and pay their gambling debts. As luck would have it, they end up kidnapping Mumbai's biggest underworld gangster, Musabhai (Sanjay Dutt). But Musabhai is having his own problems with Sultan (Mahesh Manjrekar), a rival gangster. He is out to kill him. So this kidnapping has actually saved Musabhai's life. He decides on a plan to save his girlfriend, Rani (Priyanka Chopra) from Sultan's gang with the help of his four captors. They in turn get attracted to the gritty life of the underworld but Musabhai puts a stop to their dreams. He forces them to return home. The highlights of the film include some funny moments involving the four characters, a chasing sequence and some well executed action scenes. But as soon as Sanjay Dutt comes onto the scene, he takes over the film from the boys. His presence is felt from then on till the end. Mahesh Majrekar as Sultan, brings down the roof. He has done well in all the comedy scenes. On the technical front, the film has been shot stylishly with shift camera movements to add impact on the scenes. Not much can be said about the heroines who had little scope to display their acting talents. They were just there to add glamour to the storyline. On the whole if its just entertainment you are looking for then Plan is the film for you!
