Eileen agreed to face Alex at a hustings- a critical point in her campaign. Alex was tipped off that Eileen planned to expose his hypocrisy and double dealings over the community centre and decided to play dirty. He arranged for Brian, Eileen's son, to have his first visit home to Shieldinch since his mental illness caused him to kidnap his step-sister and kill his granny in a car accident. Alex reckoned that would distract his opponent!
Raymond and Brian had an emotional reunion and set about finding Eileen. However, Scott got to them first and convinced Raymond that he should let Eileen make her speech before telling her about Brian. Raymond agreed, but when he saw Brian's obvious disappointment at his mother's no show, he came clean with Eileen. Eileen wanted to go to her some immediately, but when she realised that Alex had used him to try to derail her campaign, she resolved to stay and fight and see Brian later. Alex wasted time and messed about so much that Eileen eventually was forced to forfeit her chance to speak to see her son. She was furious and vowed revenge on Alex Judd.
Lenny was delighted when his purchase of the boatyard land came through. He headed off on holiday with Lydia, leaving Ewan in charge of an unhappy Amber. However, she before long she was making the most of having an empty and throwing a party to impress Innes. Amber, Nicki and Hayley invited everyone they could think of- and some more! The place was mobbed but that one special person wasn't there- Innes didn't show up.
Ewan was livid when he returned to find the house in a complete mess. He grounded Amber but she didn't care- all she could think about was Innes.
Gordon and jack were interviewing for a new stylist at the salon. Robbie Frazer turned up, and initially, Gordon thought of him as a cheeky wee so-and-so. However, when he saw Robbie convince Eileen to have a new 'do' he realised that Robbie was the man for the job.
