Eileen's relationship with Alex Judd was going from strength to strength. She'd made up with Daniel, and it looked like she had the right team to get the community centre going. Daniel showed her an unused building in the boatyard that seemed like it would be an ideal location, with a bit of work. After calling a community meeting and putting it to the vote, Eileen decided to go ahead with the plan. Everyone was impressed- especially Alex. However, things became complicated when Lenny discovered Eileen's interest in the building and told Alex to stop her. Alex protested that Eileen had her heart set on the place but Lenny wasn't having any of it and reminded Alex of his past dodgy deals.

After unsuccessfully trying to put Eileen off the boatyard, Alex lied and said a building firm had already put in an offer for the land. He offered to help Eileen look for another location. Eileen accepted the situation initially, but after realising how much the site meant to everyone, she phoned the council and discovered that there was no building firm and Alex hadn't even registered her interest in the land. After confronting Alex, Eileen realised that he'd been taking back-handers. She ranted to Malcolm about how let down she felt but Malcolm reminded her that it was not just her who'd been let down. Spurred on by this, Eileen told Alex that the community deserved someone better than him, and announced her intention to stand against him in the next election.

Nicki, Bob and Deek were getting fed up of Amber constantly going on about Innes. Deek told her to just ask him out, but she couldn't manage to get Innes alone. To make things worse, Innes deliberately misunderstood Amber, so when she thought she was going for an intimate date, it ended up being a night in with the gang. To top it off, Amber got drunk and passed out on the couch. The next day she was gutted and convinced she'd blown her chance with Innes, but persuaded Nicki and Deek to arrange a night in the Tall Ship for them all. Bob gave the evening a miss, assuming that everyone had paired off, including Nicki and Charlie. Amber arrived in a skimpy dress and threw herself at Innes, but the party came to an end when Lenny and Lydia turned up and made her see what an idiot she was making of herself. Bob spent the evening at home but his mood brightened when Deek and Nicki returned early without Charlie- a reaction that wasn't lost on Deek.

DI Hall arrived to ask Ruth some questions about the assault. When DI Hall mentioned that the victims of the serial attacker had a 'trophy' taken from them, Ruth immediately knew that it was hair. She's obviously been attacked by the same man. Gina's reaction was to become even more protective than usual, checking up on Ruth and organising her life for her. Ruth was getting increasingly nervous, and freaked out when she was in the hairdressers. Afterwards, she confessed to Lydia that Gina was making her nervous. Lydia said that Gina's behaviour was just concern, and Ruth spoke to Gina about it and told her that it was OK, she would cope. Later, Gina and Ruth met Lydia in the pub and they agreed to confront the problem together.
