A speeding car attracted the attention of Shieldinch's residents. A young lad, Stuart, tore into town. Nicki took a shine to him and helped him work on his car, whilst Daniel wanted to help him keep on the straight and narrow. Marianne, however, was less happy that her husband was getting involved. She sent Stuart running when she questionned him about his situation, and he found himself in trouble when Lenny caught him trying to nick a charity box from the Ship.
Lenny saw an opportunity to get this boy on side and promptly recruited him to help him do a dodgy deal. Stuart quickly became the object in a tug of war between old rivals Lenny and Daniel. He decided that good, clean living was best but when he found out how much his car repairs were going to cost, he had to think again. Lenny got him in over his neck when he was forced to threaten folk with a gun so Lenny could hold up a van. This was way out of Stuart's league so he was relieved when Daniel arrived in the nick of time and helped him walk away from Lenny.
A lovestruck Nicki was disappointed when she realised this turn of events meant Stuart would be leaving, but Daniel convinced him to stay and work for him, and Stuart asked Nicki out!
Elsewhere, the men of Shieldinch were up to something. Scarlett discovered Jimmy was lying about going to the gym and found him having secret poker trysts with Raymond, Bob, and Scott. She got the girls together and set a trap. They crammed in poker revision and sent Scarlett in to fleece the boys. Armed with a hidden earpiece, she took directions from Shona, Ruth and the trusty internet, she gatecrashed their party and took the lead. As she got close to winning, her headset was discovered and she was on her own. The girls found that they could read their mens' 'tells' and that helped Scarlett win the game!
Sammi felt pressurised when her nameplate for the surgery arrived. She wasn't sure she could go through with their plans to work together, after everything she'd been through, losing Ben. She fought with Marianne, who didn't seem to accept that Sammi was in two minds about the situation. Happily, Sammi decided to stay and her friend was delighted to find her putting up her new nameplate!
