New landlord Ewan was sick of being a glorified barman but had to be polite as Lenny brought a bunch of business associates round, and made sure the glam Joanne was in place to charm them. He even got her to move into the pub. Jo confessed to her mum that she'd invented her pregnancy and miscarriage, and Gina was raging! She told her daughter she needs to tell Ewan the truth but before she could, Ewan told her he loves her and wants to try for another baby!

Having got his feet under The Tall Ship's table, Lenny was determined to get hold of The Grill... but Eileen was furious with his paltry offer. Raymond insisted he thought she'd be okay but that went down like a lead balloon. She told Lenny she'd rather go bankrupt than sell to him but he started to play dirty (gee, that's so unlike him!) and did all he could to make her life difficult. After a lengthy battle between the two, Lydia managed to convince Lenny to sort it out. Eileen accepted his offer and started making plans to leave... until Lydia realised she'd be the one running the kitchen in the future! Lenny was quickly forced to invite Eileen to stay on as manager... but it's going to cost him!

Mary turned up again to check Ewan is still on track to wreak revenge upon Lenny. She also discovered a new, dangerous, ally in Archie Buchanan. That's a match made in heaven.

Amber discovered that Shirley and Viv were having troubles with the Moda Vida lease, and upset Nicki when she decided to hang out with her bosses instead of her young pal. Nicki decided it was time to leave school and get some work. In a bid to dissuade her, Deek and Bob plotted to show her that the working world is dull and boring. Sorting out Deek's accounts would surely be terrible... but she enjoyed it! Bob and Deek were disappointed so sent her to work in the garage instead. Remarkably, Bob realised she had a flair for his line of work so offered her a job as a trainee mechanic! Deek was not impressed.
