Mary decided to leave time but made sure she imparted some wisdom before she went on her way. She told Ewan that Jo's worth holding onto, and encouraged him to bond with her kids (something that Jo was delighted about!), and warned him not to underestimate his dad. Lenny was pleased to discover her departure but she totally took the mickey out of him for paying Zoe off!
Zoe told her sister about her plans to leave town, carefully omitting the fact Lenny was making it happen, and Nicki immediately decided to go with her. Rory was less enthusiastic. He walked in on her packing bags and was upset to hear those bags weren't heading to their new flat. He wanted to leave with her but she was pretty horrible, turning on him and pretending she'd enjoyed her life on the game.
He refused to accept it though so she took drastic action. He walked in on her in bed with Ewan, with money lying beside them! Enraged, he stormed out and a confused Nicki went home to find out what the fuss was about. She ran out, too, and refused to listen to any of Zoe's tearful pleas. She'd set it up so that Rory would let her go but Ewan chose not to admit that to anyone. They hadn't slept together!
Shirley persuaded a distraught Nicki to talk to Zoe but she'd gone, leaving a big pile of cash and a farewell note. Nicki went mad and threw cash around in the street, giving it away to anyone! Rory, meanwhile, tried to attack his brother. Lydia chucked Ewan out the house but Lenny handed him keys to a posh flat instead!
Liz was frustrated when Malcolm wouldn't spend any time with her - she wanted to talk about their potential relationship! He was preoccupied with the new baby but Liz managed to get him by himself and told him he shouldn't let life pass him by. He shut her up by kissing her!!!
Ruth's wee baby girl had to stay in hospital for an extra night whilst the doctors ran some tests on her but everyone was shocked that Ruth decided not to stay with her daughter. Worried about her behaviour, Scott asked the doctor for some advice but it was put down to 'baby blues'.
Malcolm reassured her that her gran had been unsure to start with but soon became a great mum. Ruth didn't seem so sure. Despite everyone's attempts to help her bond with the wean, she seemed to still be mourning Elizabeth, the baby she miscarried last year. She was in bits and couldn't bring herself to look after her newborn.
