Shona continued her war against Sonny and was not at all happy when she found out Raymond was on his side! Scarlett gave her the idea of a public soapbox and quickly set her up with Bob's karaoke machine and a microphone. Shona was too quiet for Scarlett's liking though so she quickly took over... until Lydia turned up to show support and Scarlett had a go at her and told Shona she'd have to choose which one of them is allowed to help! Shona soon got into the swing of public speaking but Sonny retaliated by giving away free burgers to an appreciative crowd. Shona tried to stop him but Roisin wasn't having any of it and the pair started fighting - physically fighting! Hair was pulled and punches thrown... and when Raymond tried to intervene, Shona accidentally punched him in the face! She was horrified and tried to apologise but he just walked away. Sonny, meanwhile, has come to the conclusion that his opposition is just looking for a distraction from what's really bothering her - being apart from Raymond.

Liz couldn't figure out how she felt about Douglas. On one hand she couldn't bear that he couldn't remember his childhood but, for her own peace of mind, she was glad he couldn't remember what had happened to him and dreaded his memory coming back. Douglas was feeling more and more saddened by Archie's past behaviour and told Malcolm he wanted to try to make things right. Malcolm suggested a small gesture so Douglas bought his mum flowers. Liz got really freaked out though - they were her favourite flowers. How did he know? Douglas let her think he'd somehow remembered but admitted to Gina that Malcolm had told him what to buy. Shaken up, Liz admitted her fear to Gina, who reckoned Archie would NEVER have done anything as nice as buying flowers.

Ruth tried to talk to Marty again about trying for a baby but he was really preoccupied by work. There's no way he'll have time for anything like that this year! However, Ruth pointed out that he'd been all for it when they first got married and she doesn't intend to stop taking her medication or anything silly... and it looked like he was won over!

Tina became incredibly distressed when she discovered that Paul had run away from school. She and Scott did all they could to find him but it turned out to be Whiteside who tracked him down. He had no intention of looking for the boy but he spotted him alone by a river. Paul was fretting because he'd dropped a picture of his dad into the water. Amazingly, Whiteside took pity on him and fished it out of the mud. Paul confided his misery over missing his dad, and Whiteside lent a comforting shoulder to cry on. He took Eddie's boy back to his mum. Tina was overjoyed but bemused by the DCI's involvement... especially when it became clear that the two had bonded. Whiteside even promised to take Paul fishing with him!
