Posters for 'Sonny Burger' were plastered all over Shieldinch and it infuriated Shona. As far as she's concerned, the local businesses will suffer from the large-scale competition and it would attract a lower class of customer... not to mention the mess! She decided to wage war against his development and set about gathering support. First stop: Deek. At first he was fine about the plans but she quickly put words in his mouth and he confronted Sonny... who shocked him by offering big bucks to buy him out! Deek accepted and Shona was mad. However, she kept going with a few unwilling comrades!

Meanwhile, a few cutting words from Shona about his heritage sent Sonny straight into a family tree investigation and what he found was cause for celebration. It turns out he's a laird! Out came the champagne and Shona changed tack - maybe his new escalated status would keep him from a lowly burger chain? Alas, her words fell on deaf ears and he's proving to be a worthy adversary for Shona. The fight continues...

Douglas, Liz and Gina tried to get used to living together but it was quite confusing calling Archie by his new name. Douglas faced more questioning from the police but admitted he didn't tell them what Gerry had done. He reckoned Archie deserved it. Liz felt bad for him and told Gerry he had to apologise to him. A non-plussed Gerry did (flinching when he saw the mess he'd made) and was instructed to start calling his old boss 'Douglas'. It looks like Liz believes Douglas's story.

Liam cooked Eileen a fancy romantic meal but she wasn't impressed. Raymond interrupted but just as Liam was trying to explain this wasn't just *any* meal, Eileen pretended it was a business lunch and put Liam's nose out of joint. He was hurt when she made it clear to him that their relationship is purely physical. She doesn't want feelings being involved. The pair made up and agreed to just have fun.

The Hunters prepared for Paul's return to school and had a wee birthday celebration in advance cos he'd be away on the actual day. He was dreading going back and pleaded with Tina. He and Jamie had a fight but his new self-control impressed the family. It looks like the school is working. After a chat with Scott, Tina decided to be strong and send Paul back. Paul, however, seemed deeply unhappy at the prospect.
