Marty was raging that Jo and the kids had taken over his home, and ranted full blast at Lenny, who was having his own trouble with Lydia. She's found out that Lenny's son, Rory, isn't coming home for Christmas and expects him to do something about it. Lenny dismissed it and only perked up when he heard Marty talking about Liz's house being repossessed. He got on the phone, pulled in some favours and bought the house!
Jimmy's horse-racing expertise impressed Bob and they put all their kitty onto one nag. Amazingly, it won and the pair celebrated a win of over £3000! That seemed to give Jimmy a much-needed boost cos when Scarlett came home all dressed up as Mrs Claus, he was delighted to discover his impotence has disappeared...
Zoe tried to call Angela to get some work but there was no answer. Her problems were nearly solved when she bumped into one of her old clients in Versus and they were close to coming to a private arrangement until Heather stepped in and sent him packing. She apologised profusely for him bothering Zoe!
Gina couldn't come to terms with Jo's return, especially when her daughter claimed she'd come back for her mum's sake. She'd heard about Archie and knew Gina needed her. However, everyone knows Jo doesn't have a selfless bone in her body and it seemed pretty apparent that life with Luca wasn't all she'd hoped for. Gina tried to push Jo away but eventually was persuaded to let her and the boys stay for Christmas... but only for the kids' sakes. Then a health scare changed everything - Romeo fell ill and was rushed to the doctor cos Ruth suspected meningitis. Happily, it turned out to be an ear infection but the fright brought Gina and Jo closer together. Jo confessed to her mum the truth about Luca - it was an awful mistake and he couldn't wait to see the back of her. She said she wished she could be a good, honest person like Gina. Ha! It was all too much for Gina and she admitted she has her own dark secret...
