Sunday, 23rd December 2007, 5.05pm, Radio Scotland
John Purser rounds off his history of Scottish music looking at our interaction with the world at large, including Martyn Bennett’s "Tongues of Kali", Bill Drummond on the power of the pipe band, Hamish Henderson’s "Freedom Come-All-Ye", Judith Weir’s exploration of Chinese history, bronze age side-blown horns as they survived in Uganda and finishing with some uniquely Scottish contributions to world music, in a piano concerto, a waulking song, and a walk across the rooftops.
