Episode 10. The Musician's Gallery

Sunday, 11th March 2007, 5.05pm, Radio Scotland

Queen Margaret

John Purser takes us to Doune Castle in the late 15th century, where Queen Margaret and her husband James III are surrounded by music. We hear a harp with gold and silver strings, a team of ploughmen tendering for a contract in song, the grisly epic of Graysteel, and an old man’s fireside conversation with a wise old owl.
