Episode 9. The Truth About Harlaw

John Purser tries to find out what really happened when the Earl of Mar fought with the Lord of the Isles at the Battle of Harlaw in Aberdeenshire in 1411. He enlists the help of historian Ian Olson (left), and uncovers lots of musical evidence, provided by fiddler Bonnie Rideout, harpist Alison Kinnaird, ballad singer Jeanie Robertson and piper Allan MacDonald.
