Cairn Gorm Mountain
The Highlands to me mean the mighty Cairngorms and the exhilaration of skiing down Coire Cas. It’s worrying that climate change is dramatically changing how we use the landscape and that we can no longer rely on being able to ski here as often. This is the way the Cairngorms should be in winter - covered in a thick blanket of snow. I've been coming to Aviemore from Edinburgh to ski for over thirty years and have seen the place develop beyond recognition; the opportunities to ski though are becoming less and less due to the lack of snow. This place is a reminder of so many good memories and I’d love my grandchildren to have the same experience of the Cairngorm mountains as me.
