The informative and stimulating activities built into this site can be used to complement our televised education programmes, See You See Me - Romans in Scotland. On the other hand, you may prefer to use this online resource separately - it's up to you! It all depends on your requirements and the needs of your learners!
The purpose of BBC Education Online is to: - Provide a meaningful context in which to offer exciting and thought-provoking activities that meet the 5-14 attainment targets of Environmental Studies, English Language and ICT at Levels B/C.
- As an online service, to be accessible to teachers and children from the Internet.
- Support the objective that ICT should enhance and enrich learning across the curriculum.
There are 5 exciting areas for your children to explore and collect information from, followed up by 4 online activities to complete.
Children's pages are 'safe', so you can feel secure while your learners are online.
Each page has a teachers' help icon in the bottom left of the page to offer guidance and instructions in the form of the content of the page/activity, the purpose of the task and learning outcomes.
Each page has a children's help icon, Maeve. She will 'speak' to children and text will appear in a speech bubble, offering guidance and support to children who may need it.
