The Eruption - Damage
This map shows the full extent of the deposits left by the pyroclastic flows and surges. The pyroclastic flow, shown in black, followed the routes of several valleys. First Mosquito Ghaut, then Paradise River and finally Pea Ghaut. The pyroclastic surges, shown in yellow, cover a wider area including some towns and villages named on the map.
