Compare two maps to discover how Inverness has changed since the 1950's. Map 1 shows a 1:10 560 scale map of Inverness in 1932. Map 2 show a 1:10 000 scale map of Inverness in 2003. On each of the maps you will see the numbers 1 -7. These number relate to the statements below. Read each statement and decide which map it belongs to.

1. Select the statement that relates to Map 1.
a. Drummond is a built-up council owned housing estate. The houses in Kintail Crescent are close together and there is little open space. Cauldeen Primary School serves these houses.
b. Hilton farm is a large mixed farm with cattle and large areas of permanent pasture. The fields surrounding the farm grow fodder crops such as potatoes and turnips and oats.
2. Select the statement that relates to Map 2.
a. The area between the two tributaries of the Ault na Skiah Burn is fairly rough ground covered in grass, gorse and broom. It is used for pasture for sheep and cattle.
b. The area between the two tributaries of the Ault na Skiah Burn is a large council housing area with more than 60 houses.
3. Select the statement that relates to Map 2.
a. The Ault na Skiah Burn is surrounded by many houses. It flows under roads and through gardens.
b. The Ault na Skiah is one of the fastest flowing burns in Inverness and flows through fields and the gardens of a few large Victorian residential properties.

a. A private housing estate around two cul de sacs has involved the building of more than 30 houses.
