Coasts: Comparison Exercise

In the revised curriculum students are expected to be able to compare two similar environments, and describe and explain similarities or differences in their environmental quality. To help you practice, we've created this exercise.

You may be asked a question like this in the exam:

For two named coastal areas in Europe:
a) Describe and explain the differences in their environmental quality.
b) Describe and assess the effectiveness of local, national or international policies and strategies used to manage, improve or maintain their environmental quality.

A good answer to this question will cover several points. We've broken down the process of writing an answer to this question into six tasks. Tasks 1 to 4 answer part a), and tasks 5 and 6 answer part b). At the end of the exercise your six answers to these tasks can be combined to create a full answer to this exam-style question.

You can choose to complete this exercise in one sitting or tackle each task separately. Either way, the material you cover is the same.
