On playing Miss Haversham

With a new adaptation of Dickens' Great Expectations by the RSC at Stratford, Sian Phillips tells Jenni about playing the eternally bitter jilted lover Miss Haversham. With all the clocks stopped, the house shrouded in cobwebs and still in her wedding dress decades later - Miss Haversham embodies the disappointment of failed romance… and Sian Phillips is loving the role.
