The Olivier award-winning actress Celia Imrie is well known for playing Miss Babs in Acorn Antiques. She has also starred in many films such as St. Trinians, Nanny McPhee, Bridget Jones and Calendar Girls. In her latest venture she takes to the stage as Mrs Malaprop in the eighteenth comedy 'The Rivals'. Famous for her misuse of the English language, Mrs Malaprop describes a young gentleman as ‘the very pineapple of politeness!' Celia joins Jenni to discuss the character, the malapropisms, pantomimes and Cherry Bakewells.
'The Rivals' is on at the Southwark Playhouse until 30 January 2010
