Thirty years of women’s theatre - time to draw the curtain?

In the 1970s and 80s various groups of theatrical women decided it was their turn to take British audiences by storm. They vowed to put on plays, written by, produced by and acted by women for women.

But is there still a role for women's theatre groups or is it time to draw the final curtain?


30th Anniversary of the Sphinx Theatre Company being celebrated by a special production of The Little Mermaid touring England until 12 November.

Flogging the Jewels! an exhibition celebrating 30 years of the The Sphinx Theatre Company at the National Theatre until 5 November.
