How to deal with your child skipping school

Around 70,000 children truant from school everyday, and a recent report studying over one hundred thousand pupils at schools in deprived areas of the country, found that more than a quarter of them skipped school for up to a week a year.

Jenni is joined by Chris Gravell, Policy Officer for the Advisory Centre for Education, Kerry Long Senior Education Welfare Officer in Bury and Dinah Morley, Deputy Director of the child mental health charity, Young Minds, to discuss the underlying causes of truancy and what parents can do.
