Dr Patrick Hazelwood is head of St John's comprehensive school in Marlborough in Wiltshire and he must have delighted his pupils this week. He announced he was scrapping homework and described it as a dinosaur which isn't relevant in a 21st century education system.
Jenni asks him why he's taken this step and whether work set by the teacher and marked, serves a useful purpose - or is it better to leave pupils to their own devices to 'manage their own learning'?
