A Scandanavian approach to early learning.

This week sees the introduction of the new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for all under fives in childcare. As a result, young children will be monitored, through play, to make sure they reach 69 different milestones before they start formal education at five.
Swedish children start their education at the age of 7 and to see how their system differs form that in England, Kati Whitaker visited the Stenkolet ‘Forskolan’ pre-school in Sweden.
